A video of a railway employee duping a passenger during a cash transaction at Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station has surfaced on social media. The clip was shared on Twitter by a user named Rail Whisper on Friday. According to the caption of the post, the incident happened on Tuesday.

In the video, a person sitting behind the ticket counter has been caught cheating money. Despite accepting ₹500, the railway staff is seen trying to fool the passenger by demanding more money by changing ₹20 note and issuing ₹125 ticket.

In the clip, when a customer holds a ₹500 note while requesting travel on the superfast Gwalior train, the railway staffer swaps the note with a ₹20 denomination note from his pocket. He also asks for more money for issuing a ticket of Rs.125.
The video has gone viral on social media since being shared. It also attracted the attention of Railway Service and Delhi Division, Northern Railway (DRM Delhi NR). Responding to the post, the railway officials concerned said, “The employee has been taken up and disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against him.”
Meanwhile, several netizens also reacted to the video in the comments section. One user wrote, “This has happened to me many times in Chennai. Union hooliganism of some railway employees gives them the courage to indulge in such crimes.”
Another wrote, “Dangerous, first time I have seen such magic, wondering, what if he didn’t record the clip?” “Shame on people who cheat and siphon off others’ hard earned money. Totally disgusting. Action needed,” commented a third.
