As of today, 15 of the 33 parties who picked the tender document have received permission from the BCCI to submit FINANCIAL BIDS. There are 7 IPL teams in there. Special day in the history of women’s cricket today

We’re overwhelmed with the response to the WIPL Team Tender. Women Cricket on Wednesday will set new benchmarks on the commercial front. A top BCCI official involved in the bidding process says we’ll see 14-15 players bid for 5 WIPL teams.

Who’s left in the fray for WIPL? 17 companies with a minimum NET-WORTH of Rs 1,000 cr submitted technical bids on Monday morning.

Even though all 10 IPL franchisees bought the ITT, Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings, & Lucknow Super Giants didn’t submit bids.

Sources say Mumbai Indians (Reliance), Delhi Capitals (GMR-JSW), Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad (Sun TV Network), and Royal Challengers Bangalore (Diageo) have submitted technical bids.

Torrent Group, Kotak, Haldiram’s, Adani Group, Slingshot-Route Mobile, APL Apollo, Accord Group, and Shriram Group have also submitted technical bids.

You can bid on cities like Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Dharamshala, Guwahati, Indore, Lucknow, and Mumbai.

When will the financial bids be submitted? Financial bids for the five teams are due Wednesday morning. The BCCI will then reveal who owns the five WIPL franchises. It’s going to be a close auction – which means BIDDERS will have to put their best foot forward at the WORD-G0.

As with the media rights tender, the BCCI hasn’t set any bases for franchise cities. In a five-year deal, Viacom18 paid a record sum of 941 crore for the WIPL media rights.

Why aren’t CSK, LSG, and GT bidding for WIPL teams? Chennai Super Kings confirmed the decision, saying it was a strategic business decision.

A representative from the Gujarat Titans wants to focus on the men’s team. CVC Capital owns the team.

When’s the WIPL Player Auction? There are no official dates for the WIPL Player Auction yet. BCCI sources say that if WIPL Teams AUCTION goes well on Wednesday, player AUCTION can be scheduled for 2nd week of February.

In the first year, each franchise will have Rs 12 crore to buy players. The amount will be raised to 13. The second year will be $5 cr and the third year will be $15 cr.

In the XI, teams can play five overseas players, one from an ICC associate member country.

In the inaugural season, only two stadiums will host matches – DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
