According to a source close to Hamas, the group is willing to extend Gaza Ceasefire that has seen Hamas release a third group of hostages, including an American girl just four years old.

Since the Hamas group attacked Israel on October 7, devastating Israeli bombardments of the Gaza Strip triggered a four-day truce starting Friday, the transfers are the first relief for captives’ families.

Several hostages were returned to Israeli territory after the latest release, according to Israeli officials. An 80-year-old woman was hospitalized, as her life was at risk.

A four-year-old American girl was among those freed, according to US President Joe Biden.

In the unprecedented attacks, Abigail’s parents were killed by Hamas, which Biden described as “a terrible trauma.”

Despite the truce’s terms, 17 hostages, including three Thais, were released.

The release of a Russian-Israeli, Ron Krivoy, was attributed to the efforts of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his “support of the Palestinian cause”, according to Hamas.

As a result of Hamas’s deadly attack on Gaza’s militarized border with Israel on October 7, around 240 people were released.

A Hamas operative is believed to have killed around 1,200 Israelis and foreigners, according to Israeli authorities.

The Hamas government in Gaza reported nearly 15,000 deaths as a result of Israel’s military campaign against Hamas.

A total of 39 Israelis have been freed since Friday as a result of the deal.

After 78 Palestinian inmates were released from Israeli jails over the past two days, the Israeli prison service freed 39 more Palestinian prisoners on Sunday.

A separate deal between Hamas and the Thai government released ten Thais and one Filipino on Friday.

As a crowd hailed Hamas fighters in central Gaza City, destroyed by Israel’s air and ground offensive, Hamas’ armed wing released a video on Sunday evening showing hostages entering vehicles and exiting them.

Mounting pressure

There has been mounting pressure on Israel to extend the Qatari, American, and Egyptian-mediated pause.

According to French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna, extending the truce until all hostages, including French citizens, are released would be beneficial, helpful, and necessary.

The vice president expressed a similar wish, “so that more hostages can be freed and more humanitarian aid can reach Gaza’s most in need.”

Hamas is willing to extend the pause, according to a source close to the group.

According to the source, Hamas informed the mediators the resistance movements were willing to extend the current force for two to four days.

There is a possibility of releasing 20 to 40 Israeli prisoners in that time period, according to the resistance.

The truce calls for the release of 50 Hamas hostages over four days in exchange for the release of 150 Palestinian prisoners. There is an automatic mechanism designed to extend it if at least ten Israeli captives per day are released.

Despite hopes for a lasting end to the offensive, Israeli leaders have tempered their optimism.

Netanyahu told Gazans on Sunday that he would continue to fight until the end — until victory.

An online video posted by his office showed him wearing green military fatigues and surrounded by soldiers.

An Israeli premier has not visited Gaza since 2005, so he spoke during that visit.

The war’s goals can be achieved without hesitation, and Netanyahu said, “There will be nothing stopping us.”

There is hostage situation in Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza city, according to a text message Israeli forces sent.

Anyone who kidnaps hostages will be neutralized by the army, according to the message.

‘That’s enough’

Residents in Gaza picked through piles of rubble after weeks of bombardment elsewhere in the territory.

Oussama al Bass, who inspected the ruins of his home south of Gaza City, said he came to see what was left. After fleeing with nothing, we fled with nothing at all.

He said, “Everything is gone.”. The stress has reached a breaking point. That’s enough. We can’t take it anymore.”

Family members pushed luggage and relatives in wheelchairs on the streets of Gaza City, while children were carried in arms.

At Soroka Medical Center, Elma Avraham, 84, was being treated for a life-threatening condition and will be moved to the intensive care unit after being freed Sunday. Soroka Medical Center’s director Shlomi Kodesh said she will be moved into the intensive care unit after being treated.

During the Hamas attack, sisters Ely, 8, and Dafna, 15, whose father was killed, were also freed.

According to images from the government press office, Israeli hostage Sharon Avigdori embraced her son Noam, 12, and relatives at Sheba hospital as she was released with her daughter Noam.

Waiting crowds flew Hamas and Palestinian flags as white buses of the International Committee of the Red Cross delivered the freed prisoners in Ramallah and Beitunia in the Israeli-occupied West Bank on Sunday.

“Freedom is priceless,” said Noorhan Awad, a woman released Saturday from prison.

The Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas said Sunday that Ahmed Al-Ghandour, commander of its northern brigade, was killed with four other senior leaders.

Aid has increased since the fighting paused, but Adnan Abu Hasna, a spokesman for UNRWA, warned that humanitarian needs are unprecedented.

During at least two months, 200 Lorries should be sent every day.

According to UN estimates, 1.7 million Gazans have been displaced by the fighting.
