Yes, it’s An ED government…: Devendra Fadnavis
“People taunt that this is an ED government.
Yes, it is an ED government, of Eknath-Devendra”
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis using the name of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his own, some in the assembly words used.
It is alleged that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was misused to effect change in the government.
Opposition legislators first shouted “ED, ED” when rebels from Uddhav Thackeray‘s army backed Eknath Shinde during the trust vote, which he raised to 164-99 in the assembly speaker’s election held yesterday.
Some of these MLAs or their families are facing probe by the ED, an agency under the BJP-led central government.
Shri Fadnavis said that the pre-poll alliance of BJP-Shiv Sena got the mandate in 2019, but the majority was deliberately taken away from us.
He was referring to Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena, which left the BJP to form a government with the Congress and the NCP – a government that fell after Eknath Shinde’s rebellion in the Shiv Sena last week.
“With Eknath Shinde, we have once again formed our government with Shiv Sena.
A Shiv Sainik has become the chief minister,” he said, underlining Mr. Shinde’s claim that his faction is the real Shiv Sena.
