On his LinkedIn profile, he describes himself as a social activist from Mumbai who works at Reliance Industries Limited’s Chairperson Office as a Special Project Manager. A graduate of the Parsons School of Design in New York, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and Communication Design. The socialite has over four lakh followers on Instagram and his bio reads, “Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn’t work hard.” He keeps his fans and followers updated about his life and often posts pictures and videos from movie premiers, vacations, photoshoots etc.
Mr Awatramani told Cosmopolitan India that he works hard. On being asked whether it was a 9-5 typical job, he denied it and said that he works hard on himself. He said he was working on himself by going to the gym, doing a lot of self-reflection, practicing yoga, getting massages, working, but working on himself.
Describing what he actually does, Orry said, “Everyone wants to know this? I’ll tell you exactly what I said in my first job interview to my boss as of today, ‘You know, ma’am, growing up I wanted to be an aeronautical engineer. But what am I today? I’m a singer, a songwriter, a fashion designer, a creative director, a stylist, an executive assistant, a shopper, and sometimes a football player, I don’t know. I feel like life is about having dreams. Inflate your dreams, give them wings to fly, and seize every opportunity.’ I looked her in the eyes and said, ‘I’m the kind of person that if you ask me to paint something for your wall, I’ll paint the entire house’. And mic drop.”
Because they went to school and college at the same time, Orry knows a lot of people in the film industry. According to him, there are only a few people he considers friends. It’s not really that I’m friends with people in the ‘film industry’-I’m friends with my peers. “We’re all the same age; we all went to school and college at the same time. I consider only a few people to be industry friends that I’ve met only in the industry, such as Bhumi Pednekar. It wasn’t until a couple of years ago that we became close, but now we’re very close.”
Mr Awatramani said that when he posted a picture with Kylie Jenner at her house in the US, it grabbed a lot of attention and “put me on the map”. According to the socialite, his fashion choices were the result of the fact that his school did not enforce uniforms and students were allowed to experiment. There were no uniforms at my boarding school in Dhanushkodi, Tamil Nadu. Children were allowed to experiment with their looks, but they had certain rules-you couldn’t wear miniskirts or a mohawk to school. In addition, Orry told Cosmopolitan that because it’s a boarding school, your parents have no say in what you wear.
