WhatsApp India Head Resign: The tech giant also announced the appointment of Shivnath Thukral as Director of Public Policy for Meta in India across all its platforms.
Two weeks after Meta India chief Ajit Mohan resigned to take another job at rival Snap, Meta’s country head for public policy Rajeev Agarwal has also resigned today, the social media giant confirmed. In a statement, Meta said that WhatsApp’s India head Abhijit Bose has also resigned.

Rajeev Agarwal has decided to step down from his role in Meta to explore another opportunity, the statement said.
WhatsApp chief Will Cathcart thanked Abhijit Bose for his “tremendous contribution” as the first head of WhatsApp in India.
Cathcart said, “Their entrepreneurial drive has helped our team deliver innovative services that have benefited millions of people and businesses. WhatsApp can do a lot for India, and we help drive India’s digital transformation.” Excited to continue doing it.”
The tech giant also announced the appointment of Shivnath Thukral, who was director of WhatsApp Public Policy in India, as director of public policy for Meta in India across all of its platforms.
Mr Bose also announced his resignation on LinkedIn, saying he was “really excited” about his next job. “After a short break, I plan to re-enter the world of entrepreneurship,” he said, adding that his step down had been planned for some time, “but given the events of last week. Given “they wanted to hold it back” focus on supporting those “affected last week”.
Facebook’s parent company Meta announced the massive layoffs in a blog post on Wednesday. Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg apologized and took “responsibility for these decisions and how we got here”.
More than 11,000 Meta employees were laid off in the first major round in the social media giant’s history. Meta is the latest tech giant to announce downsizing.
