Rilee Rossouw became the star of the day when he scored his century against Bangladesh in the Super 12 clash of the ongoing T20 World Cup at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday.
Rossouw took only 56 balls to cross the 100-run mark as his innings helped South Africa reach a total of 205/5 in 20.0 overs. Apart from him, Quinton de Kock also played an innings of 63 runs in 38 balls.
Apart from his scintillating innings, one thing that grabbed everyone’s attention was the batsman’s emotional celebrations after completing his maiden century in the T20 World Cup 2022.
Rossouw completed his century in the 16th over after taking a single off Shakib Al Hasan. Moments later, the Proteas batsman jumped with joy and tears welled up in his eyes. Then he sat down on the ground and rejoiced at his incredible knock.
Their celebration took everyone by surprise as all the fans could not stop showering their love on the Proteas batsman.
This is Rossouw’s second consecutive century in T20 Internationals.
The first was against India, which he made in 48 balls during the third T20I of the three-match series at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.
Coming into the match, opting to bat first, South Africa posted a score of 205/5 in 20.0 overs when Rossouw scored a century and de Knock scored 63. For Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan took two wickets, while Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmood and Afif Hossain took one wicket each.
