During New Zealand’s ongoing T20 World Cup Super 12 Group 1 match against Sri Lanka, right-handed batter Glenn Phillips played a 104-run knock to take their total to 167/7 in 20 overs. Phillips scored his century in just 61 balls and smashed 10 fours and 4 sixes. In the third over, Allen and Mitchell put on 84 runs for the fourth wicket to stabilize New Zealand’s innings.
One incident during Phillips’ innings is being appreciated by fans on social media, and it has to do with his backing up during the final over. When the bowler was about to deliver the ball, the batter did not venture out of his crease, rather he took the guard like a sprinter.
The video and photos of Phillips taking a unique guard are now going viral.
