Wasim Jaffer’s Birthday Wish For Rishabh Pant: On Tuesday, India’s star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant turned 25 and Wasim Jaffer wished him a very happy birthday with a meme.
In the meme, Rohit Sharma interviews Pant in three frames, wishing him a happy birthday and asking him what he wants for his birthday. Second frame: “Batting,” and third frame: Rohit with a whacky expression. As a result of Pant not being able to bat in the two T20Is against South Africa despite being in the playing XI, the tweet went viral very quickly.
As Dinesh Karthik is preferred over Pant in the T20 World Cup starting later this month, Pant has played in absence of Hardik Pandya in the South Africa series.
India, however, chased down a low target in the first match with KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav taking the hosts home.
After the top order batted most of the overs in the second T20I, Dinesh Karthik was called in as the designated finisher as the third wicket fell in the final two overs.
Pant, however, will hope to get a chance to impress in the third T20I, being played on his birthday in Indore, with India reportedly planning to rest Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.
Pant has often been tried as an opener in the format by the team management, and if Rahul doesn’t play, he may get a bump up the order
