Officials said the man suffered burn injuries in the mishap and is receiving treatment at a hospital.
A video of the freak incident has gone viral on social media.
The video shows two ticket collectors talking at the railway station in Kharagpur, West Bengal, when a live wire falls on the platform and touches their heads.
As the other official talks to him, he falls on the tracks along the platform with his head down.
He has been admitted to a hospital for treatment after being rescued by railway staff and passengers.
