India’s Fastest Bowler Umran Malik
In the first T20I against Sri Lanka, the right-arm pacer hit 155 kph on the speed radar, overtaking Jasprit Bumrah’s record. Jammu-born pacer beats Bumrah’s record of 153.36 kph to become fastest Indian bowler. In addition to being the fastest delivery of the match, it was pivotal as it got rid of Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka who was bamboozling the Indian attack.
After Shanaka was dismissed for 45 off 27 balls by Malik on 155 kph lightning-quick deliveries, Sri Lanka needed 34 off 20 balls with just three wickets left.
Mohammed Shami is third on the list for fastest deliveries. On the speed gun, he hit 153.3 kph, while Navdeep Saini recorded 152.85 kph.
Malik has hit speeds over 155 kph, though. During IPL 2022, he clocked in 156.9 kph for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Delhi Daredevils. Just behind Lockie Ferguson’s 157.3 kph delivery, this was the second fastest delivery of IPL 2022.
Against Sri Lanka in the first ODI of the three-match series, Virat Kohli’s 45th ODI century and half-centuries from the Indian openers led India to their 22nd 300-plus ODI total.
