Shoaib Akhtar – 161.3km/h

Akhtar is thought to be the fastest bowler in the game’s history. Against England at the 2003 World Cup, he bowled the fastest ball ever, at 161.3 km/h. This was the official world record.

In his career, which lasted from 1997 to 2011, he took 178 wickets in Tests and 247 wickets in ODIs.

Brett Lee – 161.1km/h
