A new row emerged as Telangana BJP president, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, referred to the famous ‘Husain Sagar’ lake in Hyderabad as ‘Vinayaka Sagar’, while the Telangana Rashtra Samithi or TRS-led Telangana government was accused of alleged non-arrangement criticized for Ganesh festival.

Talking to the media, the BJP President said that there will be immersion in the ‘Vinayak Sagar’ lake, referring to the ‘Husain Sagar’ lake. He also alleged that the Telangana government has completely failed in arranging the Ganesh Navratri festival.
“Same thing happens every year. The government started the system only after the Bhagya Nagar Ganesh Utsav Samiti protested on the streets. Hindus are struggling, celebrations are going on at AIMIM headquarters in Darussalam. This is the situation of TRS party,” Mr. Kumar said.
“There are going to be major immersion in two days, and even minimum arrangements have not been made. Only a few cranes were installed in the morning, which are not working yet. Last time, around 60 cranes were installed. To think about this situation,” Mr Kumar said.
The Telangana BJP chief also accused the TRS government of targeting the Hindu community and belittling the Hindu festivals.
“Municipal ministers are atheists. While their father believes in God, they do not. After meeting with Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav committee, unnecessary rules and regulations were made. To put only Ganesh idol, we need sound permission, height and revenue permission. Aren’t Hindus paying taxes?” Mr. Kumar asked the Telangana government.
All Hindus should attend the Vinayaka Visarjan program being held in Vinayaka Sagar. The government is trying to humiliate the Hindu community. If your son is an atheist, how can he make arrangements? This is a well-planned conspiracy of the government. To reduce the value of festival from last 4 or 5 years. We will do immersion in Vinayak Sagar,” Mr Kumar said while attacking the TRS government.
Earlier on Monday, prisoner Sanjay had warned the KCR government against obstructing Ganesh Nimajjanam at Tank Bund in Hyderabad on the pretext of the Supreme Court order.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Sanjay said that it is “unfortunate” that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government is creating a “tense atmosphere” during the immersion of Ganesh idols every year.
“We will not tolerate if the government does not cooperate with the devotees in immersing Ganesh idols as per their convenience. We will fight Nimajjanam till Pragati Bhavan. The Hindu community is not afraid of KCR, who is trying to build a particular community. To create law-and-order situation to garner votes of K,” he said, adding that devotees will proceed with the immersion in Hussain Sagar Lake, no matter what.
