TAKEOFF DEAD AT 28: Takeoff, a third of Migos is dead after the morning shooting in Houston… TMZ Hip Hop has confirmed.
Law enforcement sources, and several witnesses, tell us that the fatality occurred shortly after 2:30 a.m. … that’s when police received a call to shoot a man at 810 billiards and a bowling alley called Bowling Houston.
We’re told that Takeoff and Quavo were playing dice there when a brawl broke out and someone opened fire, shooting the takeoff … either in the head or near his head. He was declared brought dead at the scene.
TMZ Hip Hop obtained footage from the scene, and you can see Quavo in an orange shirt — and others gathered around takeoff. At first they tried to shake him, but then knocked him down and Quavo shouted for some help.
Police tell us that 2 others were shot and taken to hospital in private vehicles. It is not clear what their terms are. Quavo was not injured.
Hours before the shoot, Takeoff posted a selfie from Bowling Alley. Quavo posted the video earlier in the night driving around Houston with Jace Prince, who was celebrating his birthday.
Takeoff, whose real name is Kirschnik Khari Ball, was the youngest member of the Migos. Quavo was his uncle, and Offset his cousin.
They came together as a group in Georgia in 2008, and became multi-platinum hitmakers… dropping their first major hit, “Versace”, in 2013. They reached number one on Billboard in 2016 with “Bad and Boggy”.
Recently, Quavo and Offset released a project called “Unk and Few” as a pair. He released his latest music video “Messy” on Monday.
