During a holiday in Dubai, Indian entrepreneur Anas Rahman Junaid and his family got a surprise of a lifetime when they bumped into Dubai’s ruler in an elevator. Mr Anas, the founder and managing director of wealth research agency Hurun India, shared pictures of the meeting on Instagram.
The Mumbai-based businessman captioned the picture, “What are the odds of meeting @hhshkmohd in an elevator?? Such a down to earth person. He graciously allowed us to take multiple photographs and we had a great chat with Mishel as well.”
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, stepped in along with his entourage on Saturday as he was riding the elevator with his family following the 22nd flood of Atlantis The Royal.
Mr Anas told the outlet that he was shocked when he encountered him in the lift. He placed his arms around my daughter and asked if she was familiar with him. According to the entrepreneur, the Sheikh chatted with his family and posed for multiple photographs before leaving, sending them into a tizzy.
According to Mr Anas, his daughter and son were eager to meet the ruler of Dubai. “Everyone was jumping in excitement when we stepped out of the elevator,” he said.
As a matter of fact, my wife took a photo of the lift and shared it on social media, saying that it was her favorite lift in the world. We couldn’t believe we’d actually met him and spoken to him. A photo of us with him was then sent to friends and family members before it was posted on social media,” Mr Anas told the publication.
The Hurun MD also commented about his encounter with the Sheikh: “I had heard of him being friendly, but to experience it first hand was a real treat. After speaking to my daughter, he turned to us and asked where we were from and what we did. He then kindly obliged us for a picture. Although my son usually doesn’t smile for photos, he had the biggest smile on his face this time.”
