BCCI’s Annual General Meeting: Outgoing BCCI president Sourav Ganguly attended the annual general meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) at the Taj Hotel in Mumbai with Roger Binny and Rajiv Shukla. There is a lot to consider at the BCCI AGM, including BCCI office bearers, the Women’s IPL, and other issues.
Roger Binny was slated to replace Sourav Ganguly as BCCI president, after the former Indian captain was stripped of his post. According to sources in the Board of Control for Cricket in India, BJP MLA Ashish Shelar is likely to replace Arun Dhumal as Treasurer. As BCCI Secretary, Jay Shah will remain in his position.
All office bearers from different parts of the country from various associations submitted nominations for various positions at a BCCI meeting held at the Trident Hotel in Mumbai on October 13.
“It has been a pleasure to serve as president of the Cricket Association of Bengal for five years. After all these terms, you have to leave and go. You have to contribute a lot to the team as an administrator. Since I have been a player for years, I understand this. I enjoyed my time as an administrator a lot. The game cannot be played forever, and the administration cannot last forever either.” Ganguly said at an event earlier on his removal as the BCCI president.
Despite being offered the position of IPL Chairman, the former India captain turned it down. The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) will elect Ganguly as its president.
