BJP leader Sonali Phogat had “multiple blunt force injuries” on her body, the postmortem report said today, after two of her aides were charged with her murder.
“There are multiple blunt force injuries on the body. In view of the above, the manner of death of the investigating officer is to be ascertained,” the report said.
Sonali Phogat, 42, died on Tuesday morning in Goa, where she had gone with a group.
Her family questioned the initial reports that she had died of cardiac arrest.
Today, Goa Police on Thursday registered a murder case against her personal assistant Sudhir Sangwan and her friend Sukhwinder Vasi, who accompanied Sonali Phogat when she reached Goa on Monday.
Sonali Phogat was brought dead on Tuesday morning at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Anjuna, North Goa.
Her brother Rinku Dhaka filed a complaint with the Goa Police that her sister was raped and murdered by Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder.
Rinku said in her complaint that BJP leader Sonali Phogat from Hisar in Haryana had spoken to her mother, sister and brother-in-law a few hours before her death.

Sonali Phogat Murder Case Filed By Goa Police
A murder case has been registered in connection with the death of BJP leader Sonali Phogat, who was found dead in Goa. Her brother Rinku Dhaka had claimed that she was murdered by two of her associates, who were accompanying her to Goa.
The brother said the family would allow the postmortem only after an FIR or a police case is registered against the two persons by the Goa Police.
He also alleged that Sonali Phogat had spoken to her mother, sister and brother-in-law shortly before her death. He said she seemed upset and complained against two of her colleagues.
Sonali Phogat, who hailed from Hisar in Haryana fame on Tik Tok, was brought dead on Tuesday morning at St Anthony’s Hospital in Anjuna area of North Goa district, a police official said earlier, a suspect. He died of a heart attack. , Later the police registered a case of unnatural death.
The body is currently kept in the morgue of the Goa Medical College and Hospital.
