SYL Removed From YouTube: His last song, SYL, titled Sutlej-Yamuna Link Canal, released after the killing of Sidhu Moose Wala, has now been taken off the video streaming platform YouTube.

The song on Punjab’s water issue talks about the Sutlej-Yamuna link canal, which has been the subject of discord between Punjab and Haryana for quite a long time.

SYL Removed From YouTube: Composed by Sidhu Moose Wala before being shot on 29 May, the music video was released on YouTube by producer MXRCI on Friday, 23 June. However, upon clicking on the link of the video, a message is now displayed, which states, “This content is not available on this country’s domain due to a legal complaint from the government.”

The song talks about undivided Punjab, the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and its video shows the Sikh flag being hoisted at the Red Fort during the farmers’ movement.

Since its launch, Moose Wala’s song SYL has garnered over 27 million views and 3.3 million likes on YouTube.

On May 29, Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead by assailants in Jawaharke village of Mansa district of Punjab.

The incident happened a day after the Punjab Police along with 424 others withdrew their security. Notably, the singer had joined the Congress party in December last year ahead of the assembly elections.

Canadian gangster Goldie Brar claimed responsibility for Moose Wala’s murder in a Facebook post. Goldie Brar is a close associate of gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi, the prime suspect in the murder of the Punjabi rapper.
