Today, Aftab Ameen Poonawala, who allegedly killed his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar at their Delhi apartment and chopped up her body into 35 pieces, will appear in court.
In order to complete its investigation and gather all evidence, the Delhi Police wants the 28-year-old in custody for at least one more week. Five days have passed since he was taken into custody.
Police have yet to locate the weapon that Aftab Poonawala used to cut up his girlfriend’s body after strangling her on May 18.
Her severed head, which Aftab allegedly kept in a fridge for days, has not been found in the forests in Mehrauli near the couple’s apartment in Chhatarpur.

Shraddha’s body was cut up with a knife or saw
Her body is missing parts. Police found ten bags of body parts when they took Aftab to the forest on Tuesday.
Aftab and Shraddha’s clothes from the day of the murder have not been found. According to Aftab, he disposed of Shraddha’s bloodstained clothes in the civic garbage van.
There is no sign of Shraddha’s mobile phone.
An Aftab Narco test has been requested by the police.
The police say it will take 15 days to determine whether the body parts found in the forest belong to Shraddha.
In addition to examining security footage, the police have requested details from the dating app Bumble, where Aftab and Shraddha met three years ago.
There are no witnesses to the six-month-old murder, so investigations are based on forensic reports, call data, and circumstantial evidence.
During 18 days of 2 am trips to the forest, Aftab disposed of Shraddha’s body parts one by one. At the time, no one saw him.
Shraddha was allegedly killed by Aftab after a huge fight three days after moving into their apartment in Chhatarpur, south Delhi.
Shraddha and Aftab had left Mumbai in March after she fought with her family over their relationship.
After Shraddha’s friends reported that they hadn’t heard from her in over two months, her father filed a kidnapping report.
