Ramiz Raja on Shaheen Afridi: Pakistan pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi is 90 percent ready for the upcoming T20 World Cup, but his availability will depend on how he performs in the two warm-up games in Australia, PCB chairman Ramiz Raja said.

Afridi will join the national team in Australia on Saturday after completing his rehabilitation programme for a knee injury under the supervision of the PCB Medical Advisory Committee. On October 17 and 19, he will be available for selection for the warm-up games against England and Afghanistan.

Ramiz Raja on Shaheen Afridi said that he has spoken to him and is in contact with his doctors. They have told us he is 90 percent ready.
“Knee injuries can be delicate and technical, so we’ll have to see if he feels sore after warming up.

Pakistan will begin their campaign at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 23 against India. He says he is ready, and I believe we are as well.”
As an independent observer, I can say with confidence that our team can win the World Cup given the mechanics of the tournament. His ambition as Chairman of the board was to make Pakistan the number one team in all three formats.

At the start of the match, Raja made it clear that it was not necessary to separate Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam.
If a team wants a solid opening pair, we sometimes talk about separating them.

The three key points for a team to be successful are to have a good opening pair and good bowlers.
The team disappoints us sometimes, but they have a 75 percent success rate, which is why fans and commercial partners engage with them.

There are issues with the middle order, but I don’t see any reason to change something that has worked for us up to this point.”
In addition to focusing on developing players and ambassadors for the game, the PCB chief said the ongoing Pakistan Junior League and women’s league will also strengthen the structure for women’s and junior cricket.

In my experience, there is a lot of interest in the PJL and women’s league even from abroad; I have seen PJL matches and have already seen one or two players who can now play directly for Pakistan.”
