Sanjay Dutt Karan Malhotra: Shamshera director Karan Malhotra, who is busy promoting his upcoming film starring Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt, recently revealed that the news of Sanjay Dutt battling cancer was a “huge setback” for the team as The actors were acting as if nothing had happened.

Calling him “Superman”, the director said that he is an example that one can face life’s problems with a smile on his face. Sanjay Dutt was diagnosed with stage four cancer in August 2020.
Karan Malhotra said, “The news of Sanjay sir having cancer came as a big shock to all of us. We didn’t know about it. He was talking, behaving and acting like something It hasn’t happened.
I think that’s why he has won where he is today. Sanjay sir doesn’t let anything get better. He is an inspiration to everyone on the sets,” ANI quoted the director as saying.
The director further added, “After giving so many years of his life to his craft, Sanjay sir leads from the front and his behavior shows us all how to conduct himself on the sets.
He took this attitude while shooting for Shamshera. With that he has nothing. Can’t win. He never revealed what he was going through personally. He put the mood on the set.”
Calling Sanjay Dutt a “Superman”, Karan Malhotra said, “It is exemplary how he quietly showed us that we too can face life’s adversities with a smile on our faces.
To me, Sanjay sir is a Superman. And there is no one like him. I am indebted to him for his support towards Shamshera. He is a constant guide and a mentor to me.”
In October 2020, Sanjay Dutt announced that he is cancer free in a post on his Instagram handle. An excerpt from the actor’s post read: “The last few weeks were very tough times for my family and me. But as they say, God gives the toughest fight to his strongest soldiers.
And today, my kids’ birthdays. On this occasion, I am happy to win this battle and be able to give them the best gift for the health and well-being of my family.”
