World War III If Ukraine Joins NATO: Alexander Venediktov, deputy secretary of the Russian Federation’s Security Council, told the state news agency TASS on Thursday that Ukraine’s accession to NATO could trigger a third world war.
According to Venediktov, Kiev is aware that such a step would lead to a World War Three.
I guess that’s what they’re counting on – to attract attention once again by creating informational noise.”
Venediktov also reiterated the Russian position that the West is directly involved in the conflict by helping Ukraine.
Following President Vladimir Putin’s announcement in Moscow that the four partially occupied regions had been annexed by Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced a surprise bid to fast-track membership in NATO.
