After terminating his contract with Manchester United earlier this week, Cristiano Ronaldo has been offered to continue his playing career with Saudi Arabian giants Al Nassr.

Ronaldo and Manchester United parted ways on Tuesday after he criticized the club and manager Erik ten Haag in a TV interview. Ronaldo appeared on ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored’ and said he felt “betrayed” by the club and claimed senior officials had attempted to oust him. Following the interview, the English Premier League club said last week that it had “taken the appropriate steps” in response to Ronald’s comments.

Now, in the midst of all this, CBS Sports reports that the 37-year-old soccer legend has been offered a three-year, $225 million deal to play for Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr after the World Cup. The terms of Ronaldo’s offer are understood to be as high as $75 million a year.

According to the outlet, Ronaldo, who is currently playing in his fifth World Cup, has been of interest to Al Nassr for some time, but now, the club’s interest in him is “stronger than ever”.

CBS Sports reported that the two sides have been in contact since the summer, so talks are relatively advanced now but await a final decision from Ronald. If Ronaldo chooses to accept the offer, media outlets said it would take a long time to finalize a deal.

Notably, Al Nassr is one of the most successful clubs in Asia, having won nine league titles. Cristiano Ronaldo, on the other hand, on Thursday became the first male footballer in history to score goals in five different FIFA World Cups after opening the scoring in Portugal’s World Cup clash with Ghana.

Two days after parting ways with Manchester United by mutual consent, all-time male record international goal-scorer Ronaldo lined up in his usual centre-forward position for the Group H clash.
