Rahul Gandhi entered Jammu from Punjab on Thursday for the last leg of his ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, a pan-India foot march. The first time Gandhi wore a jacket was today, after marching through north India in a t-shirt during peak winter.

Since morning, it’s been drizzling in Jammu, so Mr Gandhi finally wore protective clothing. After removing the jacket, he walked around in his signature white t-shirt.
Rahul Gandhi’s minimal clothing has drawn curiosity, even admiration, from many, and snark from opposition parties for 125 days. If he feels cold, he’ll wear more clothes, but so far that hasn’t happened.
On January 25, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will hoist the national flag in Banihal, in the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir. He will arrive in Srinagar two days later via Anantnag.
Both police and paramilitaries are ring-fencing the Gandhi scion and his co-travellers during the yatra, which resumed this morning in Kathua’s Hatli Morh. There are also jammers. IndiNews has learned that security agencies told Gandhi not to walk certain stretches during the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Kashmir.
Mr Gandhi invoked his Kashmiri ancestry during his speech in Jammu, where top Kashmiri leader and National Conference president Farooq Abdullah was waiting to greet him. Residents of the former state were in pain and suffering, he said.
Rahul Gandhi got a grand welcome in Punjab’s Madhopur, which shares a border with Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district. Hundreds of people gathered to welcome the yatra, which will end in Srinagar on January 30 with a grand finale.
Chadwal is where the yatra will stop for the night. Starting tomorrow, it’ll go from Hiranagar to Duggar Haveli, then Vijaypur to Satwari.
