R Ashwin: Further, it is unclear whether Ashwin would be able to catch a flight in time to play in the rescheduled Test against England that will take place at Edgbaston, Birmingham, beginning July 1.

The Indian team practiced with the red ball in England

R Ashwin: Monday was the first time the Indian team practiced with the red ball in England. Most of their best players were there, but Ravichandran Ashwin was notably absent. The Indian Express has heard that the off-spinner has Covid-19 and couldn’t fly to England a few days ago because of it.

No one knows for sure if Ashwin will be able to get on a flight in time to play in the rescheduled Test against England at Edgbaston in Birmingham on July 1. Rohit Sharma is the captain of the Indian team. They flew to London to finish the series, which they lead 2-1 going into the last Test.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said:

R Ashwin: According to rules from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). All players had to take RT-PCR tests after flying from their homes. It is known that Ashwin’s test came back positive, and he is currently being kept at home in Chennai.

Ashwin wasn’t on the Indian team that played five T20I matches at home against South Africa. He played in the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association’s first division games once a year (TNCA).

Ravichandran Ashwin talked about himself

Ashwin decided to play for his local team, Mylapore Recreation Club MRC ‘A, just a week after playing for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL final, which they lost to Gujarat Titans. Ashwin played in both the semi-final and the final, and he helped his team win the first title in the first division. Later that day, he talked to reporters in Chennai and told them why he went to his club even though it was very hot.

“The goal of these games is to switch from the 20-over format to this red-ball format. All of these are ways to manage your workload. As you get older, you learn how to play better, which is what I’m trying to do. I am enjoying my game. I just want to go there and let things happen as they do. Ashwin thinks I can help with both the bat and the ball. “I want to keep working and getting fitter,” he had said.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah had said that canceling the fifth Test

R Ashwin: India didn’t play the fifth Test of the series in England last year because of a Covid-19 scare in their dressing room. Both the former coach Ravi Shastri and the team physiotherapist got sick, so the players didn’t want to go to the game. BCCI secretary Jay Shah had said that canceling the fifth Test was a decision made by both the BCCI and the ECB.

“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have decided to cancel the 5th Test Match that was supposed to take place in Manchester during India’s tour of England in 2021. The BCCI and the ECB met several times to try to find a way to play the Test Match. However, when Covid-19 broke out in the Indian team, the Old Trafford Test Match had to be canceled. Because of how well BCCI and ECB get along. BCCI has asked ECB to reschedule the Test match that was canceled. Both Boards will try to find a time to play this Test match again”, the BCCI said in a statement.
