Fact-checker and co-founder of Alt News Mohd Zubair has been charged by police in Uttar Pradesh after it was claimed that he revealed the identity of the Muslim boy who had been repeatedly slapped by his classmates at the direction of their teacher, who also appeared to be making racial remarks.

The National Commission for the Protection of Children’s Rights had issued a warning on Friday against disclosing personal information, especially by sharing the video of the attack on the Class 2 student. People were urged by NCPCR Chairperson Priyank Kanoongo to “not become part of the crime by revealing the identity of the children” by not doing so.

The boy is seen on video being slapped while standing helplessly and crying while the teacher, Tripta Tyagi, encourages other students to strike harder. The video surfaced last week and sparked outrage, leading opposition politicians to criticize the Bharatiya Janata Party, which is currently in power.

As the students adhere to their teacher’s instructions, loud slaps can be heard in the horrifying video. Why not strike with more force? It’s whose turn now. The heartbreaking video features Ms Tyagi’s voice. According to his father, the boy was humiliated and made to stand for hours. “The teacher made the students repeatedly beat my child.

A couple of hours were spent torturing my son. After the incident, which happened last Thursday, the father said, “He’s scared. Despite being charged, Ms. Tyagi, who is also the headmistress of the Neha Public School in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, has said she is “not ashamed” of what she did.

She explained to IndiNews that she had to “control” the kids at school in order to justify her brutal behavior. In addition, she dismissed the backlash following a widely shared video showing the assault on the Muslim boy, calling it a “minor issue… unnecessarily turned into a big issue” and denying any wrongdoing communal angle.

According to his father, the young boy was so traumatized that he went two days without eating and kept babbling at home. We can only speculate as to how such an incident might affect a young boy, he continued.

The boy is now doing better after being taken to Meerut for a medical examination, according to his father. The FIR against Ms. Tyagi was filed, according to Muzaffarnagar District Magistrate Aravind Mallappa Bangari, after the parents overcame their opposition.

The father had stated that his son would not attend the school but that he would not file a complaint against the now-closed institution. Legal action will be taken, Mr. Bangari said in response to farmer leader Naresh Tikait’s later claim that he had mediated a settlement between the parents and the officials (against Ms Tyagi) will be taken.
