In his opening remarks at the SCO summit on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a swipe at Pakistan. Members of the online summit include China, Pakistan, Russia, and others.

The participating nations will talk about important topics, including trade, economic integration, and regional security. The summit will also make room for Iran’s admission and present Belarus with a chance to join.

Presidents of member nations, including Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan, Xi Jinping of China, Vladimir Putin of Russia, and others, are present at the virtual summit.

At a meeting held in India, the leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) sought to deepen ties and improve cooperation within the expanding Eurasian alliance. But they emphasized that the SCO is not meant to be hostile to any other countries.

Collectively, the leaders voiced their opposition to using ideological, bloc-based, and combative approaches to problems and security difficulties. These main points were communicated in the unified statement that was made public following the online summit.

Xi Jinping, the president of China, said that their foreign policy should be based on the long-term interests of their region, and we must be vigilant against external attempts to foment a new Cold War or camp-based confrontation in our region.”

He also stressed the need for members of the Shanghai Collaboration Organization (SCO) to prioritize regional peace, shared security, and practical collaboration in order to hasten the economic recovery during the virtual 23rd meeting of the Council of Heads of State (CHS).

In his speech, President Xi also emphasized the need to maintain multilateralism and develop global governance. Russian, Iranian, and other heads of state who are part of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) were urged by China’s President Xi Jinping to fortify their alliances and defy sanctions.

According to the state news agency Xinhua, Xi emphasized the need to preserve regional peace and secure collective security while asking SCO members to deepen their unity and solidarity.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that sanctions imposed by US-led Western nations are making Russia stronger in his first overseas summit since the Wagner mutiny.

Putin declared that Russia “rebuffs all these external sanctions, pressures, and provocations” and is progressing like never before. On Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin exuded confidence and declared that his country is “as united as ever.”

Speaking virtually at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, Putin stated that the organization is “playing an increasingly significant role in international affairs, making a real contribution to maintaining peace and stability, ensuring sustainable economic growth of the taking part states, and strengthening ties between peoples.”

Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, thanked the SCO for its help during a recent revolt that finally failed during the same summit. Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner mercenary band, organized this uprising against the Kremlin. It was Putin’s first summit since the mutiny, and he used the occasion to express gratitude for the SCO’s support during this trying time.

“The choice to conduct a Summit, in this case, a virtual summit, is based on a variety of criteria. This does not imply any diminution of the goals we are attempting to achieve at the SCO Summit, according to the foreign secretary of India, Vinay Kwatra.

He further shared that everyone should have heard what Prime Minister Modi said. To give you a quick summary, the PM highlighted India’s commitment to the SCO, particularly in the last six years as a Member State, and emphasized the need for cooperation to end the threat of terrorism in the area and throughout the world.

The primary aim of the SCO continues to be the fight against terrorism, which was emphasized by the PM and reiterated by other nations present, according to Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra.

Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that the SCO “must not hesitate to criticize countries that support cross-border terrorism as part of state policy” and that “there must not be any double standards in combating terrorist activities.”

While speaking at the SCO summit hosted by India, PM Modi stated that “terrorism has turned into a threat to regional and global peace.” PM Modi said, “We have to fight together against terrorism, which may take on any form or appearance.
