He was allegedly burned alive after petrol was poured on him, according to his family.
At the hospital, he died.
Venkateswar, a 21-year-old man, was allegedly harassing Amarnath’s sister, and Amarnath confronted Venkateswar.
Vakul Jindal, a police officer in Bapatla, told NDTV that a murder case had been filed. Due to the minor status of the murdered student’s sister, who was allegedly harassed by Venkateswar, another case has been filed under the POCSO Act.
The accused are being questioned, Jindal said.
