Arshad Sharif, a Pakistani journalist, was murdered in Kenya, accused of treason
According to his wife, Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif was shot dead in Kenya on Monday morning.
Jawaria Siddiqui confirmed the incident on Twitter, writing, “Today I lost my friend, husband, and favorite journalist.”
According to Jawaria Siddiqui, the police have told him that Arshad Sharif has been killed in Kenya.
He also asked that the last picture of Arshad Sharif taken at a local hospital in Kenya not be shared.
Arshad Sharif, a journalist associated with ARY News, was killed in an accident in Kenya, according to ARY News.
Salman Iqbal, the channel’s chief executive, also expressed his condolences and said that he could not believe the news and incident.

A statement was issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry
In a statement, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry condoled the death of journalist Arshad Sharif.
The Ministry of External Affairs is deeply saddened by the untimely death of Arshad Sharif, a prominent journalist and anchor in Kenya. Arshad Sharif’s death was announced by the Pakistani High Commissioner in Kenya on 24 October.
As a result, the High Commissioner contacted the Police Administration, the Ministry of External Affairs, and other departments. The Vice-President’s office was also contacted for confirmation.”
Pakistanis of Kenyan origin were also contacted. The mission was informed that Sharif’s body was being kept at the Funeral House in Chiromo, Nairobi. The High Commissioner and mission officials identified his body there.”
He informed his family of the sad news and paid tribute on behalf of the Minister of External Affairs and the Minister of State. His family has been assured of all possible assistance from the Ministry of External Affairs.”
After being embroiled in controversy, he left Pakistan
A recent interview with Arshad Sharif caused controversy.
A sedition case was filed by the police in August this year against Sharif, President of ARY Digital Network, Salman Iqbal, Head of News Content and Current Affairs Ammad Yusuf, anchor Khawar Gumman, and producer. There was controversy surrounding an interview with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shahbaz Gill. This interview was broadcast on August 8.
As a result of ‘negative reports received from agencies’, the Home Ministry canceled the channel’s ‘no objection certificate’ a day later.
Sindh High Court reversed this decision, however.
However, Arshad Sharif left Pakistan.
Following the removal of Imran Khan from power, Arshad Sharif began criticizing the Pakistani army.
