Indian Army Dog Zoom, who underwent surgery after being injured in an encounter with terrorists in Anantnag, remains critical for the next 24-48 hours and is under the observation of the medical team, Indian Army officials said today.
“Army dog Zoom is stable after his surgery. His broken hind leg was plastered and he was treated for splinter injuries to his face. The next 24-48 hours are critical and he is in the Army Veterinary Hospital. The medical team is under observation in Srinagar,” Indian Army officials said.
In a combat operation in Anantnag’s Kokernag, ‘Zoom’ attacked terrorists and got seriously injured after being hit by two bullets.
“Despite the wounds, he continued his work which resulted in the killing of two terrorists. The dog is undergoing treatment in Srinagar,” the official said.
Though his condition is stable now, the official said the next 24-48 hours are crucial for him.
The attack dog was part of the combat team of Operation Tangpawas.
The Indian Army Chinar Corps took to Twitter to wish Zoom a speedy recovery.
He tweeted, “During the operation Army’s attack dog ‘Zoom’ got seriously injured while fighting with terrorists. He is undergoing treatment at Army Veterinary Hospital, Srinagar. We wish him a speedy recovery. Huh.”
