India’s best athlete, Neeraj Chopra, made history again when he became the first man from India and only the second Indian ever, after long jumper Anju Bobby George, to win a medal at the Athletics World Championships. He won a silver medal with a throw of 88.13 meters in the final at Oregon, USA. Anderson Peters was the world champion, and he kept his title by making three throws of more than 90 meters. Neeraj had a slow start to the final, but on his fourth try, he made a big throw, which helped him get on the podium.
There were a lot of high hopes for the star athlete, and his fans immediately took to social media to congratulate him. Last year, he won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, making history as only the second Indian to win an individual gold in the Olympics, after shooter Abhinav Bindra.
