Mob Attacks Mosque In Gurugram: Over 200 people ransacked a mosque in Gurugram, assaulting people praying inside and threatening to expel them.
In the incident that occurred in Bhora Kalan village Wednesday night, police registered an FIR, but no arrests were reported until Thursday evening.
According to Subedar Najar Mohammad, there are only four Muslim families living in Bhora Kalan village.
According to him, the ruckus began Wednesday morning when 200 people led by Rajesh Chauhan alias Babu, Anil Bhadoria, and Sanjay Vyas surrounded the mosque and entered the prayer hall, where they threatened the namazis with expulsion.
“Again, during the night, when we were praying in the mosque, the mob assaulted the namazis and locked the prayer hall. They threatened to kill us,” the Subedar alleged in his complaint.
The accused had fled by the time police arrived.
An official said police recovered a mobile phone from the scene that may have belonged to someone in the mob that attacked.
At Bilaspur Police Station, an FIR was filed against Rajesh Chauhan, Anil Bhadoria, Sanjay Vyas, and several others on charges of rioting, causing religious strife, and unlawful assembly.
“In response to the complaint, we have filed an FIR and are verifying the facts. Action will be taken in accordance with law,” said senior police officer Gajender Singh.
