Fire During Chhath Puja: An explosion caused by a short circuit has left more than 30 people hospitalized in Bihar’s Aurangabad district. At least ten victims are in critical condition.
A family was cooking for Chhath Puja at 2:30 in the morning when the tragedy occurred.
Seven police personnel have also suffered burn injuries while putting out the fire.
Upon receiving information, the police and fire brigade rushed to the scene to put out the fire. When the police threw water at the cylinder, a loud blast occurred and over 30 people were seriously injured.
Aurangabad Sadar Hospital treated all the injured.
Several have also been admitted to private nursing homes for treatment.
Anil Goswami, owner of the house, says the fire started due to a gas explosion, according to Sub-Inspector Vinay Kumar Singh from the city police station.
The matter is being investigated by the police.
