The police say a 32-year-old man murdered his aunt, chopped up her body into 10 pieces, and dumped it in a remote area in Rajasthan’s Jaipur.

On December 11, Anuj Sharma killed his 64-year-old aunt after she prevented him from going to Delhi for an event, police said.
In Jaipur’s Vidhyadhar Nagar, Anuj lived with his father, sister, and aunt Saroj, who had been living with them after her husband’s death. Last year, Arun’s mother died of COVID-19.
As his father and sister had gone to Indore, Arun and Saroj were alone at home on December 11. Saroj stopped Arun from going to Delhi, which led to an argument. She was making tea when he hit her on the head with a hammer in a fit of rage, police said.
After cutting her body into ten pieces, he dumped them along the Jaipur-Sikar Highway in a remote area.
Officials said Anuj carried the body parts in a bucket and a suitcase, adding that he also filed a missing complaint and started looking for her along with other relatives.
The police monitored his activities after discovering that his statements were misleading. CCTV footage shows him leaving his house with a suitcase and bucket.
According to police, he confessed to killing his aunt with a hammer after being confronted.
“The killer is intelligent and educated. He appears to have psychopathic tendencies.” The police suspected him as he filed a missing complaint, but CCTV footage did not show the aunt leaving the house, rather it showed him carrying a bucket and suitcase out of the house,” said Anand Srivastav, Jaipur’s police commissioner.
Blood stains were also found in the kitchen, Mr Srivastav said.
