Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today asserted that “love jihad” is a “reality” and the gruesome murder of Shraddha Walker in Delhi has proved it.

Mr Sarma had earlier spoken on the issue in the context of murder, insisting that the country needed a stricter law against “love jihad” – a term coined by the right-wing to describe many inter-faith relationships. Gaya word.

In an exclusive interview to NDTV today, Mr. Sarma said that “Love Jihad is a reality from a national perspective”.

Sarma said, “There is evidence of love jihad (in the Walker case)… Even Aftab’s polygraph test says he has disclosed that his actions will take him to Jannat. There are reports on this.” NDTV.

Sarma had also made a statement to the Times Now Summit two days earlier, saying that there was an “element of love jihad” in the murder.

A section of the right-wing argues that Muslim boys trap Hindu girls in relationships to ensure their conversion.

The gruesome murder of 26-year-old Shraddha Walker and the systematic disposal of her body by her boyfriend Aftab Poonawalla has shocked the nation. The matter has become controversial because of the religious divide and the woman’s estrangement from her parents.

Last month, a Union minister blamed “well-educated girls” who leave their parents and opt for live-in relationships, triggering a storm of protest.

Union Minister Kaushal Kishore said that live-in relationship promotes crime, these incidents are happening with all those girls who are well educated and think they are very clear and able to decide about their future have the capacity.
