Laal Singh Chaddha Rejected: Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha has been a disappointing performance at the box office so far. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh noted in a social media post that thanks to the long weekend, Raksha Bandhan and Independence Day – a national holiday, the cash register failed to ring. In a post on Ku, Taran Adarsh shared that the film’s total in five days failed to surpass the opening day collections of Aamir Khan’s last film, Thugs of Hindostan, which was panned by critics and audiences alike it was done. Sharing the details, Taran Adarsh said, “Lal Singh Chaddha has been dismissed… LSC 5-day total is less than *Day 1* of Thugs Of Hindostan [₹50.75 cr; Hindi version], do maths … Guru 11.70 Cr [Raksha Bandhan], Fri 7.26 Cr, Shani 9 Cr, Surya 10 Cr, Monday 7.87 Cr [Independence Day]. During Aamir Khan’s recent appearance on Koffee with Karan, the actor admitted that he was tensed about the release of the film. When asked by Karan Johar if he is tense, Aamir said, “Of course, I am tense, kaise dekha askha raha hai yaar (what kind of questions are you asking)?” Elaborating further, he said, “We are excited that we have made a good film, but if the film is not liked by the people, it will break our hearts.
Laal Singh Chaddha is a Hindi remake of Hollywood classic Forrest Gump and is directed by Advait Chandan. The film stars Aamir Khan as Roopa along with Kareena Kapoor in the lead role. The film also stars Mona Singh as Lal’s mother and Balaraju Bodi as Naga Chaitanya, making the film its Bollywood debut.
Laal Singh Chaddha is Aamir Khan’s third film with Kareena Kapoor after 3 Idiots and Talaash: The Answer Lies Within. Aamir Khan’s Rang De Basanti co-star Atul Kulkarni has worked on the script of Laal Singh Chaddha. It was released in cinemas on 11 August.
