In 2013, retired American basketball star Dennis Rodman said that Kim had a “baby” daughter named Joo Ae. After a visit to North Korea that year, Rodman told The Guardian newspaper that he had spent time with Kim and his family and had adopted the child.

According to KCNA, Kim’s wife Ri Sol Joo also made a rare appearance at Friday’s launch.
