Karnataka Leader: A Janata Dal (Secular) leader from Karnataka has been caught on camera slapping the principal of a college. The politician, M Srinivas, was on a college visit and reportedly got angry after the principal failed to give a clear answer about the ongoing development work for the computer lab.
Karnataka Leader: While Principal, Nagananda had weaved through the crowd to reach the MLA to explain details of the institute which is an upgradation of an existing college. He covered his face after he was slapped and continued answering the minister’s questions.
This incident happened in Mandya on June 20 and this video is now going viral on social media. This has angered the public. In the video, Mandya MLA Srinivas is seen repeatedly slapping the principal while visiting the renovated Nalwadi Krishna Raja Vediyar ITI College.
Other officials and other local leaders including a woman are watching this incident in shock. Several Twitter users have expressed their anger. “The principal’s coworkers are watching silently… shouldn’t they all have walked out of the program in support of his principal?” asked a user.
Another said, “The principal should file a complaint with the police. His staff and the staff of other colleges should come in support.” While no complaint was filed by the principal, he claimed to not know why he was slapped by the legislator, when asked. The legislator continued to visit the other departments in the campus and sought details about them from Nagananda.
