Karnataka Ambulance Accident 4 Dead
A CCTV camera at a toll booth shows the horrific accident on a wet road in the Karnataka coastal district where it rained.
In the footage, some people who appear to be security guards and toll operators are seen running to clear three plastic barricades from a street as an ambulance approaches.
The footage showed a guard successfully clearing two barricades before the toll plaza. But the last barricade remains near the boom barrier, which one man manages to pull out, but only halfway.
Massive Ambulance Crash At Toll Booth In Karnataka
By then the ambulance had almost reached the toll plaza.
Suddenly, the ambulance – a large van – slams onto the wet road and turns towards the toll booth cabin.
It is clearly visible in the video that the ambulance had descended from the aquaplane on the wet road after the tires derailed. Aquaplaning occurs when water cannot drain from the tread of the tire, leading to loss of control because the tires do not touch the ground.
The video of the horrific accident is going viral on social media.
