Kangana Ranaut hinted at joining politics and her willingness to contest the Lok Sabha 2024 elections from Himachal Pradesh on a BJP ticket, according to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president JP Nadda.
In response, JP Nadda said the Bollywood actor is welcome to join the party, but the decision to contest elections is made after consultation with the party.
The actress hinted at her foray into politics on Saturday, October 29, saying she is open to running from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh if the BJP gives her a ticket.
“Kangana Ranaut is welcome to join the party. We have ample space for anyone who wants to work with the party. But as far as contesting the polls is concerned, it is not my decision alone.” JP Nadda said that consultations take place at every level, from the grassroots to the election committee to the parliamentary board.
“Everyone is welcome to join the BJP. The party decides what capacity they will fill. We do not accept anyone based on conditions. We tell everyone, you have to come unconditionally, and only then will the party decide,” he said.
The BJP chief also expressed confidence that his party would win the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections. Nadda expressed confidence that people in Himachal Pradesh would again vote for the BJP under the leadership of PM Modi.
On November 12, the hill state where the BJP is currently in power will go to the polls. One phase of assembly elections will be held in Himachal Pradesh. Voting will take place on November 12 and counting will take place on December 8.
It is likely that the election will feature a two-corner contest between the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress, which is looking to regain power after losing in 2017.
