Kabhi Mujhe Bhi Aise Dekho: The Pakistan cricket team was given a boost by the return of pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi ahead of the Super 12 round of the T20 World Cup 2022. As Shaheen played his first game after a long injury layoff, he bamboozled the Afghan batters with his speed and swing in the warm-up match. In a cheeky tweet posted on social media, Pakistan vice-captain Shadab Khan welcomed Shaheen back to the team.
During Pakistan’s match against Afghanistan on Wednesday, Shaheen dismissed both Afghanistan openers — Rahmanullah Gurbaz for a golden duck and Hazratullah Zazai for nine (from 11 balls).
As a matter of fact, Shaheen’s delivery to dismiss Gurbaz was so toe-crushing that the Afghan batter sought medical attention. The video of the delivery has been widely shared on social media.
The manner in which Shadab tweeted for Shaheen deserves the top spot in the list of tweets. He finished the match with 2 for 29 in 4 overs.
‘Kabhi mujhe bhi esay dekho, jesay ball ko dekh rahe ho,’ he tweeted. “Welcome back @iShaheenAfridi!” he added.
Another Pakistani speedster, Hasan Ali, commented on Shadab’s post: “Hum dekh laty hai ap ko.”
As rain came down in Brisbane, Babar Azam & Co. were unable to play more than 2.2 overs with the ball against Afghanistan, scoring 154/6 in 20 overs.
It was Pakistan’s last warm-up match before the Super 12 match against India. While the forecast suggests excessive rain in Melbourne on Sunday, even the Indo-Pak match is under threat.
