Ishan Kishan aka Ishan Pranav Kumar Pandey Kishan is an Indian cricketer who was born on July 18, 1998. He plays for the Jharkhand team in domestic cricket and for the Mumbai Indians team in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He bats first with his left hand and keeps wickets. During the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, he led the Indian team. He played his first game for the India cricket team against England in March 2021.

Early life
Ishan was born in Bihar, in Patna. His builder father, Pranav Kumar Pandey, works as a builder. Ishan’s brother, Raj Kishan, encouraged him to make a career out of cricket. Ishan started playing for neighboring state Jharkhand after a senior player and friend told him to do so. This was because of a problem with his registration with the Bihar Cricket Association and the BCCI. Ishan’s coach says that M.S. Dhoni and Adam Gilchrist, both of whom played for the Indian team in the past, are his heroes.
Ishan knows the Aurangabad (Bihar) district very well. Ishan’s family home is in Gordiha village, which is in the Aurangabad district and part of the Daudnagar subdivision. Savitri Sinha, Ishan’s grandmother, was a civil surgeon in the city of Nawada. After she retired, his grandmother moved into Nawada. While his parents were in the business of making medicines. In the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy, Ishan scored 273 runs against Delhi on November 6, 2016. In the Ranji Trophy, this was the best score a player for Jharkhand could get. He scored the most runs for Jharkhand in the Ranji Trophy in 2017–18, with 484 runs in six games.
In the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, he scored the most runs for Jharkhand with 405 in nine games. He was put on India C’s team for the 2018–19 Deodhar Trophy. In the final of that tournament, he scored a hundred. February 2019, he scored a century against Jammu & Kashmir in the 2018–19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He didn’t lose a single game. In the next game, against Manipur, he scored 113 runs without being out. This was his second century in the tournament.

In August 2019, he was put on the team for the 2019–20 Duleep Trophy for India Red. He was put on India A’s team for the 2019–20 Deodhar Trophy in October 2019.
Kishan scored 173 runs against Madhya Pradesh on the first day of the 2020–21 Vijay Hazare Trophy, which was on February 20, 2021. With a score of 422/9, Jharkhand had the highest score of any team in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Ishan Kishan was put on India’s Twenty20 International (T20I) team for a series against England in February 2021. It was his first time to play for India outside of India. On March 14, 2021, he played his first T20I for India against England. He scored 56 runs in 32 balls before getting out lbw to Adil Rashid. Kishan was named the man of the match after India won the game by seven wickets.
In June 2021, he was put on India’s ODI and T20I teams for their series against Sri Lanka. On July 18, 2021, he played his first ODI for India against Sri Lanka. He scored 59 runs off 42 balls. Kishan was put on India’s team for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in September 2021.
