IPL 2023 auction: Mark your calendars, cricket fans, as the mini-auction for next year’s IPL will take place on December 23 in Kochi. Recently appointed Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman Arun Dhumal revealed his wish to make the league the world’s leading domestic competition.

The ten participating teams have already begun preparing their squads for next year’s IPL, with the deadline for retaining and releasing players fast approaching. For the 2023 mini-auction, each team has been granted an additional sum of Rs 5 crore (INR 50 million), increasing the pursue value to Rs 95 crore (INR 950 million).

Punjab Kings will enter the auction with the largest remaining amount from last year’s mega auction- INR 3.45 crore (approximately $425,000). Following them are the four-time champions Chennai Super Kings with INR 2.95 crore (approx. US $358,000) and Royal Challengers Bangalore with INR 1.55 crore (approx. US $188,000).

In an announcement earlier today, the Kolkata Knight Riders announced the appointment of Ryan ten Doeschate as fielding coach for the upcoming IPL, while James Foster has been promoted to assistant coach.
