IndiGo said on Sunday that a flight from Amritsar to Ahmedabad entered Pakistani airspace due to bad weather and flew up to Gujranwala before returning safely to Indian airspace.
As a result of bad weather on Saturday, IndiGo flight 6E-645 deviated into Pakistani airspace over Atari.
Amritsar ATC coordinated the deviation well via telephone with Pakistan. The crew was in constant communication with Pakistan on R/T and the flight landed safely in Ahmedabad following the deviation.
Dawn newspaper reported earlier that the IndiGo plane entered north of Lahore at about 7:30 pm and returned to India at 8:01 pm.
It was not unusual in bad weather conditions, according to a senior official of Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

CAA extended the weather warning for Lahore until 11:30 pm on Saturday due to 5,000 metre visibility at the Allama Iqbal International Airport.

Saturday evening, parts of Pakistan were pounded by rain, strong winds, and thunder. About 29 people were killed in three adjoining districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, according to local media reports.
