His parents and officials of the US Coast Guard believe an Indian American teenager jumped off San Francisco’s famous Golden Gate Bridge and died.

On the bridge, a 16-year-old boy’s bicycle, phone, and bag were found. Around 4.58 pm, the twelfth grader is believed to have jumped off the bridge.
When the coastal guards confirmed they saw “a human” jumping from the bridge, they immediately conducted a two-hour search and rescue operation.
The boy’s survival is unlikely, they said.
This is the fourth time an Indian American has attempted suicide by jumping off the Golden Bridge, according to community leader Ajay Jain Bhutoria.
Since the Golden Gate Bridge opened in 1937, nearly 2,000 suicides have been reported here, according to the Bridge Rail Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending suicides.
On both sides of the 1.7-mile bridge, the state government is building a 20-foot-wide iron mesh. While the project was scheduled to be completed by January this year, it is running behind schedule and its construction cost has risen from 137.26 million Euro to nearly 386.64 million Euro. In 2018, work on this project began.
