India and Pakistan once again played a thrilling game in the ongoing Asia Cup and in the Super 4 stage, Babar Azam-led Pakistan finished on top by five wickets. Till the last over of the match, the balance kept changing and in the end, it all boiled down to who has the better nerve.

Young seamer Arshdeep Singh Under-Fire made a relatively easy change off Ravi Bishnoi in the 18th over of the innings and hence Asif Ali got a big relief. After this Pakistan won the match by five wickets.

India batsman Virat Kohli has now come out in support of Arshdeep Singh Under-Fire, saying that in a high-pressure game one can make mistakes, and it is important to learn from him and move on.

“Anyone can make a mistake, the situation was tight. It was a high-pressure game and mistakes can happen. I still remember playing my first Champions Trophy and the match was against Pakistan, I played against Shahid. Very bad shot played.

Afridi: I was watching the ceiling till 5 in the morning, I couldn’t sleep and thought my career was over but these things are natural,” Kohli said in the post-match press conference.

“Senior players become around you, there is a good team atmosphere right now, I give credit to the captain and the coach. Players learn from their mistakes. So one must admit one’s mistake, address it and that’s it. One must be prepared to be under the pressure of the situation once again,” he said.

In the 18th over which Ravi Bishnoi bowled, Pakistan needed 34 runs with Khushdil Shah and Asif Ali at the crease. On the third ball, Asif played a sweep shot and the ball went into the air and it looked easy for Arshdeep Singh Under-Fire. But fate had a different plan as the ball passed through his hands and Asif Ali survived.

Arshdeep Singh Under-Fire was selected to bowl the last over after dropping the catch, but he could not defend seven runs. India will next take on Sri Lanka in the Super 4 stage.

Talking about the match between India and Pakistan, the former was sent to bat and the team posted 181/7 in 20 overs. Virat Kohli scored 60 runs in 44 balls.

Chasing 182, wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan was the top scorer for Pakistan as he smashed a 51-ball 71. However, the impact innings came from Mohammad Nawaz who went to bat at No. 4 and the left-hander scored 42 runs off 20 balls.
