T20 World Cup Player of the Tournament: Mitchell Marsh hit a match-winning half-century in the final of the T20 World Cup, helping Australia beat New Zealand by eight wickets and win their first T20 World Cup. This happened on Sunday in Brisbane, Australia (November 14). In the final, Marsh and David Warner made chasing a tough target of 173 look like a walk in the park. Warner scored 53 runs off 38 balls and also helped himself and his team win, which they did in 18.5 overs.

It was also New Zealand’s third loss in a row in the final of a limited-overs world cup. The Blackcaps lost the 2015 World Cup final to Australia, and the 2019 World Cup final to England was so close to giving them their first title.
