Approximately 100 Africans surrounded a police team in South Delhi’s Neb Sarai area on Saturday, clashed with them, and freed Nigerian nationals detained over visa expirations by the anti-drugs force. Detainees were being taken to the police station.

We picked up three Nigerian citizens whose visas had expired at 2:30 pm after a Narcotics Cell team went to Raju Park in Neb Sarai for deportation proceedings.

Over 100 Africans surrounded them and obstructed the police operation. Two of the three detained escaped during the chaos, but the police caught one of them again, Philip, 22.

At 6:30 pm, a joint police and narcotics squad team visited Raju Park again and detained four Nigerians, including one woman.

As a retaliation, 150 to 200 African-Americans surrounded the police team again, trying to help the detainees escape. Eventually, the police got control of the situation, and brought the offenders to Neb Sarai Police Station for deportation proceedings.
