Harsh Firing On Camera in Sonbhadra: The groom was firing to celebrate, during which his friend got shot, who died during treatment.
In a tragic turn of events, a wedding venue in Uttar Pradesh turned into a crime scene after a man was killed in festive firing. The incident which took place in Brahmanagar area of Sonbhadra district was recorded in the camera.
In the footage, the groom – Manish Madheshiya – was seen on a chariot, around which that part of the procession stood. The groom was firing as part of the celebration, during which a bullet hit his friend Babu Lal Yadav, an army man. The gun used by the groom belonged to groom’s friend Babu Lal Yadav.
Sonbhadra Superintendent of Police Amarendra Pratap Singh confirmed that the bridegroom and the victim were friends. Soon after the firing, Yadav was taken to the hospital, but died during treatment, Mr Singh said.
He said that the victim’s family has registered an FIR and the groom has been arrested. The gun used in the firing has also been confiscated. It is a criminal offense to celebrate in India at weddings and at religious places, even at public gatherings with licensed guns.
