Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was joined by former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Raghuram Rajan during his Bharat Jodo Yatra today.

A video shared on social media showed Mr Rajan and Mr Gandhi discussing while marching as the Congress’s footmarch resumed today from Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan.
The Congress tweeted, “#BharatJodoYatra Former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan walks with Rahul Gandhi. Increasing numbers standing up to unite the country against hatred shows hum honge kamiyab (we will succeed).
Mr Rajan “fancies himself as the next Manmohan Singh,” the BJP said in response to his participation in the footmarch. He also called his comments on the Indian economy opportunistic.
‘Raghuram Rajan, former RBI Governor and Congress appointee, joining Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra is no surprise. Amit Malviya, a BJP leader, said that his commentary on the Indian economy is coloured and opportunistic. He fancies himself as the next Manmohan Singh.
It appears that several guests from different walks of life will be joining the Bharat Jodo Yatra as it comes to an end in Kashmir next year, likely during Republic Day.
Over the past few months, Activist Medha Patkar, self-styled godman Namdev Das Tyagi (known as Computer Baba), actor Swara Bhasker, and boxer Vijender Singh have all participated in Mr Gandhi’s yatra.
